My wife still feels bad about a cat she know she kept too long without putting her down. She was actually going to take her in the next day, but she lost her that night in a not pretty way. Still feels bad about it. We are super attached and love these animals like family and it is so hard to let them go, but you know your animals better than anyone and if you pay close enough attention, they will let you know when it's time. Not anyone else's decision, and you absolutely did the right thing.
