I am a lifelong painter who creates images of beauty, hope, and joy -- as a counteraction to despair and angst. We've got more than enough of the latter in the world, and could use a lot more of the former.

I can understand the fear always being in the background -- one would never want to forget one was underwater. A little healthy bit of awareness is a good thing.
