Any dog can bite for any multitude of reasons so any large muscular breed is to be handled with caution, not just pits. I tell all my clients the same thing "Don't ever adopt a breed you can't handle." You can have a really sweet dog with absolutely zero aggressive behavior for years but they are still animals. If they have a medical condition or some little child hits a sore spot they can snap in an instant.
