Autism is a developmental disorder that is on a huge spectrum. I myself was born with very mild autism, meaning I can go about my normal life most of the time with some social difficulties. However, it can range to the point where some cannot speak, and still need help with basic tasks. Ok, now that I got that out of the way... Please do not talk to people with autism like babies! It drives me mad! Also, please, do not talk about a person with autism to another person when the person with autism is nearby! We can hear you just fine, we're not stupid!
