For centuries, the patriarchal system treated women's bodies as objects, as its property - first covering them up, then, especially in the 20th century, with the rise of advertising and pornography, stripping them down, exposing them, exposing them to the view of millions from large-format billboards, on television and in the press.
However, this was also the moment when women's emancipation movements began to take over their bodies. There was also Natalia LL, who, referring to the conventions of advertising - she herself had been involved in commercial photography for many years - created an iconic work for feminist art, "Consumer Art" (1972-1974) - a series of photographs and films in which naked, liberated women erotically consume food in phallic shapes. However, their confident gaze, a look directed directly at the lens, gives the impression of even piercing the viewer, confusing him - who is the viewer here, and who is the watched?
Now you can support creating an independent art institution in Poland dedicated to Natalia LL's idea of "free art".
