Environmental degradation is all around us. For those who care about the future of our climate, living a zero-waste lifestyle, or, at least one that's a little more sustainable, is a top priority.
But, let's be honest. Living life in the green isn't always as easy as we want to be, especially, if you live in a city.
Luckily, someone out there had an answer.
Jessica Panicola is an MFA candidate at the New York School of Visual Arts. Using her artistic skills and her passion for the environment, she came up with Compottery.
Compottery is handmade composting "worm bin" created by Jessica herself, using clay. Compottery is stackable ceramic pots that help turn your food waste into fresh produce with the help of nature's gardeners; worms! Other worm bins are made from plastic, which is a bit ironic, considering how much plastic is to blame for the condition of our planet.
Inside, worms thrive by vermicomposting chowing down and eating your food scraps. Some food scraps are better for worms than others, but Compottery can help you drastically eliminate your individual and household waste overall.
And, the best new of all? You can grow herbs and small plants from the compost, creating your own little garden within your home. Since Compottery is modular, you can stack the pots how you see fit, and they'll nice on any counter or corner in your home.
"Compottery is not just a product, but a community of compost enthusiasts that range from absolute beginner to expert. It's mission isn't just to build beautiful, urban composting products, but to power and equip people to use it with confidence."
