I worked for a company several years back and for christmas they were giving employees a free ham and we were treated to a nice catered meal. What they did not tell us is that the hams would be added to our paychecks at $45 each as a gift and be taxed . If I had known I would not have even taken a ham for it was definitely not a $45 dollar ham. I know I could have gone to store and bought one bigger for less money. I thought that if a company gives you something it should not cost you anything besides your sweat and working your butt off for the company
