I Documented The Unconditional Friendship Between My Son And His Best Friend Before She Moved Away

Dop (5, my son) and Roos (4) had know each other most part of their lives. They grew up about a block apart and were basically inseparable.

When I got the news that Roos was moving to another village at the end of the summer of 2014, I decided to spend each spare moment I had photographing their uncomplicated, unconditional friendship.

For them to have some nice images to remember their friendship by, for me to have a unique chance to re-experience the joys of being young in the process. The result is a black-and-white photo series showing the ups and downs in this preschooler's friendship.
