"My name is Toheeb Adedokun Akorede, also known as Funny Toheeb. I impersonate celebrities. I recreate their looks with cheap materials," the entertainer told the BBC.
Funny Toheeb said that recreating celebrity looks isn't easy. "Sometimes when I don't know what to do with the picture, I listen to music, then go through the picture [again] and I will kill it [the look]."
"It's not a day's job, some pictures we spend weeks [recreating them]. Sometimes we work at night. Sometimes the material will be around, like what we did with the plastic bottles, you just have to look around for it."
But in the end, it's worth it. "People laugh and that is just our main focus," he said. "Bringing people out of depression, motivation amidst depression."
"I wasn't born with a silver spoon. I actually want to be the person that will change my family's story, that is why I keep working. 'Just keep doing and keep thinking outside of the box,' that's what my mum used to tell me."
"I tell her I will be a big celebrity one day, she doesn't believe me." However, she better start listening to her son. As of this article, Funny Toheeb has 558k Instagram followers, and to most people, that's probably enough to be considered as a celebrity. At least an internet celebrity.
