Looking through quite a few celebrity Instagram accounts that I stumbled upon, I found some childhood photos posted by the famous people themselves, and my curiosity only grew as I wanted to see some more celebrities when they were young.
Photos of our youth tell vivid stories of where we came from and provided a window into the styles and customs of a bygone era. Through these glimpses of celebrities' childhood memories, we get an impression of how they lived and grew up before reaching the red carpet.
Photos of celebrities looking perfectly put together and downright glamorous are positively omnipresent in our culture. So it's sometimes nice to have proof that these celebrities too were once young, awkward, and astoundingly normal—or at least beholden to questionable fashion trends of decades past.
Funnily enough, these old photos do justice showing us that most of our favorite celebs did participate in awkward family photos and had the ugly duckling yearbook images taken at the gawky stages of puberty. Some of these now popular celebrities seem to have found the anti-aging elixir, while others changed almost beyond recognition.
Youth comes with its own unique beauty often depicted in funny photos, but it's impossible to deny that just like a bottle of wine, some things (and people) genuinely do get better with age.
Therefore, I compiled a collection of vintage photos showing celebrities when they were young, and I’d like you to try and guess the names of some of them without looking them up! Let’s see how many you can recognize!
