Bored Panda reached out to Clancy Clarke, the Head of Marketing at DesignCrowd to learn more about this platform. Clancy introduced DesignCrowd as a graphic design marketplace that allows customers to fulfill their creative needs via our community of over 1 million designs from across the globe. "Our goal is to help people running small businesses, startups and teams or people with side hustles and passion projects get high-quality designs for a price that fits their budget. DesignCrowd also runs and operates BrandCrowd a design platform that allows those same users to create stunning designs themselves - everything from logos and business cards to facebook posts and instagram stories."
Clancy Clarke revealed that DesignCrowd operates using a crowdsourcing 2.0 model - whereby designers are rewarded more often for submitting great designs. "Customers can expect to receive between 50 and 100 designs from multiple designers. The more active you are in providing feedback, the more designs you're likely to receive."
DesignCrowd has 2 types of contests - paid contests and community contests.
According to Clancy Clarke, the paid contests are paid for and run by customers - that is, they write the design brief, provide feedback to designers and select the winning designers.
"Community contests are either launched internally or via the designers themselves. The community contests work on a 'scoring' system that utilizes votes from other designers. There's no monetary prize for community contests - it's simply a chance for designers to show off their imagination and creative skills."
