Analysis of the painting
In the grand scene of Donald Trump’s Coronation a large portion of his electorate that helped bring him to power is in the dark literally and figuratively. There is a real separation from them and the leader they have chosen.
Between the divide and main ceremony sits Charlton Heston raising a gun to represent the influence the NRA has had over the Republican Party. Beside him is a girl in a bikini, she is a symbol of Trump’s attitude toward women.
On this side of the divide there are references to all of the elements that will come into play with a Trump presidency. Trump has taken the crown from Paul Ryan to crown Melania. Ryan looks dejected but is on board to be part of this circus. Beside Ryan is Chris Christie who was faithful from the start. Beside Christie is the Klu Klux Klan who support the idea of making America white again. Putin stands to the side ready to take advantage of what the future will bring.
ICBMs are part of the altar piece of which Trump now has control. Oil is leaking out from somewhere behind the altar onto the steps and floor. The oil and the stuffed panda bear rug are references to what Trump has in store for the environment. Melania kneels on the panda bear showing the disregard for important issues over material wealth.
Behind Melania stand Steve Bannon and Donald Trump’s son adding to the uncertainty of who will influence Donald’s decisions. The crucifix is high over all the heads of everyone and the Confederate Flag on the floor representing the religious right and its influence over the rights of women, LGBQ, racial minorities etc.
The huge robes are a symbol of the decadence, riches and power that the Trumps value most over everything. Holding the robes are Kellyanne Conway and Kayleis Mcenany who defended Trump through every ridiculous statement and action Trump took during the campaign. Behind the robe stand influential business friends of Donald that stand to gain by a Trump presidency.
Beelzebub is here watching the spectacle from the side lines surprised at his good fortune.
On the left are the bankers and a big pile of money and more oil spill. The bank figure is a model of the Monopoly character from the game which I believe is a game Trump is playing for real. Just a game.
Above the bankers etched in the wall are references to the 2008 bank crisis which we are now doomed to repeat. Above is the tip of the American flag because most of America does not want to be any part of this.
