While on the road for more than a year, I had the great idea to settle down for a season in Markleeville, California. A week before the Ferguson Fire caused our air quality to rise over 400, the tiny county seat had an emergency fire evacuation drill. Just in time, two weeks later (or so), a wildfire down the road caused immediate evacuations for many of the locals around Woodfords—this is what’s left.
Congratulations to the fire fighters and forest service from all over; the fire never made it to 300 acres and everyone is safe.
