I graduated as a student of MA Illustration, from the Maryland Institute College of Art, in May 2020. While I very well understand, all that has been going on in the world, I am trying my best to take this time to learn as much as I can about the possible career paths and work opportunities in the field of Illustrations. I am actively looking for opportunities to showcase my skills and get more real-life experience in this field. I worked as a full-time Illustrator for 2 years at a UI/UX design studio in Bangalore, India, where I designed illustrations for the company's digital products. My freelancing work spread over more than 6 years has exposed me to the dynamically expanding illustration work going on across the world. Currently, I am represented by Sara Crowe of Pippin property ltd, New York USA as a freelance illustrator. A few years I happened to illustrate the children’s picture book, Okus Bokus, a book first of its kind in Kashmir. I also actively participated in the collaborative illustration work for the calendar that celebrated the successful, yet forgotten, women of Kashmir. The Kath bath series of colanders, that I crafted in 2019 and the latest version-2021 of which I launched in December 2020, were completed sold out. The 2021 version showcased the six seasons of Kashmir. While I am working on some books with Pippins my illustrated children's book, 'Noon chai, and a story'. authored by Adhiti Rao, was published by Tulika publications in March 2021. I also authored the WhatsApp emoji stickers in 2019 in the Kashmiri language,. The emojis received over 1, 50,000 users. The mobile Kathbath stickers application has currently more than 70,000 users across the world. I always enjoy making relatable comics in the form of stories and engagements, online. It is heartening to receive an overwhelming response from the admirers/critics out there. My recent work is showcased in my portfolio.
