On the exact spot where once the Brussels' harbour could be found, we now have a big water basin and fountain. A huge surface of underused public space (2000m2). Sainte-Cathérine's square is a place with plenty of fish restaurants and shops but with a lack of possibilities to play and interact without having to consume.
After the big blows Brussels received after the terrorist attacks, Urban Foxes decided to use a simple yet poetic idea. Transforming the Fish Market into a place of wonder, playfulness and encounter.
Urban Foxes came up with the idea of providing people with little sailboats, free of charge, no matter the age. Bringing people together by playing in public space. The main goal of this project is trying to improving social cohesion by a common project. We believe that playing and spending time together will improve urban well-being for young and old, gathering them around around the water.
