A bunch of bananas from Sainsbury's were found to be infested with the lethal Brazilian wandering spider, forcing a family to evacuate their home.
Sainsbury's have insisted that the occurrence is rare, and said: "We do have rigorous controls on imported products at all stages - from harvesting to transportation."
