In our hyper-connected society, we never have been that lonely. No matter the crowd or the networks, the more we evolve into high-density cities the more we are isolated.
This paradox and this contrast are what I precisely am endeavoring to illustrate.
Visually it’s that very notion of contrast that does interest me. In particular a strong contrast between the individual and his environment, the organic vs the synthetic, the movement vs the inertia.
The idea behind each photo is to put together forms, textures, scales, and lines that are all brought into opposition within a single composition. Black and white also allow me to push this antagonism a little further and bring its own atmosphere.
In the very end, the human is the keystone of this construction, both visual and conceptual.
Through his fleeting presence, he puts into perspective his much more massive and immutable environment. But at the same time his own capacity to adapt and resilience. He is the central axis around which space is structuring itself and which makes it possible to link everything.
