A sucuri snake was rescued from inside the sewage channel, in the Pituba neighborhood of Salvador, on Wednesday (5). The animal, which measures approximately 4 meters, was taken to the Regional Nucleus of Ophiology and Poisonous Animals of the Federal University of Bahia.
The rescue was made after outsourced workers from the Baia de Agua e Saneamento S.A (Embasa) company found the snake at the sewage treatment plant, which is located in Praça Nossa Senhora da Luz.
Due to the size of the animal, the Civil Guard was activated to remove the snake from the channel. The rescue was done by the Environmental Protection Specialist Group (GEPA) of the guard, along with the Environmental Protection Police Company (COPPA) of the Military Police.
