The director of FdB tells us more about himself and the company: "My name is Martino Buzzi, an Italian photographer living in Spain. I am the director of FdB, a group that was created to give more value to photographers and help them improve their skills. We organize an annual meeting where speakers share their experiences. We also organize photo expositions where wedding images are considered real art pieces."
Martino tells us why he chose to do a contest about wedding photos: "Wedding photos are a true expression of real people's lives. This kind of photography is the only one that portraits real moments of the most important day of a couple. It is the most valuable kind of photography since it helps people remember happy moments."
"Submissions are gathered among the photographers that are part of the association. Being part of FdB is easy, you just have to prove you are a wedding photographer with enough experience. We receive around 2000 images every round of the awards," says Martino.
Martino shares why wedding photos are so important: "Wedding photos are so important because they tell the story of our family. Surely you have seen some images about your uncle or aunt that were wedding photos. Telling the story of your family helps to keep a relationship with your roots."
Martino tells us what makes a good wedding photo and photographer: "Good wedding photography is made of good light, great composition and a decisive moment. We value artistic photos but overall emotion is the most important ingredient. Personally, I love when a photographer can tell a story from a different point of view, making it original.
A good wedding photographer must be patient, to wait for the right moment to shoot. It must be sensible to understand the bride and groom's emotions. Of course, they need good technical skills to capture the photo as quickly as possible since good moments usually pass very fast."
Here are some tips for you if you want to be a wedding photographer: "To someone who wants to be a wedding photographer I would say: Practice a lot and bring your camera with you wherever you go. Try doing some street photography, start practicing with kids while they move all around. Also, you can practice fashion photography since the bride with her dress will love this kind of mood.... never give up!
I truly hope wedding photography gets more consideration among the general public. I see so many people who want to get the cheaper photographer and they regret this decision."
