Interestingly, we don't know who invented the sandwich, but it has existed in some form or another for thousands of years.

But it seems more likely that he ate these sandwiches as he worked at his desk and/or that the world became aware of them when he requested them in London society.

His title lent the preparation cachet, and soon it was fashionable to serve sandwiches in many parts of Europe, with the word making its way into the French language.

"This subreddit is pretty relaxed, and we don't have to constantly police it," the team told Bored Panda. "Rarely, people get passionate about their food and start fighting, but not often."

The moderators said that all sandwiches are welcome on the subreddit, so determining what makes a good one is subjective and varies among the members.
