Jim Carrey has said: “He must have been in a mid-kill-me fantasy or something like that. And he went to hug me, and he said, ‘I hate you. I really don’t like you.’ And I said, ‘What’s the problem?’ and pulled up a chair, which probably wasn’t smart. And he said, ‘I cannot sanction your buffoonery.'”

Patrick Swayze in his memoir wrote: "We did have a few moments of friction", "She seemed particularly emotional, sometimes bursting into tears if someone criticized her."
They made up over the years, and Jennifer Grey even fondly reminisced about working with Swayze.
We all know what kind of feeling hate is, right? Well, if you don’t live under a rock where you are isolated from all kinds of feelings, you must have felt hate at least once in your lifetime. Maybe it wasn’t raging hate, where you become violent or even worse. Maybe it was just an intense, uncomfortable mixture of fear, mistrust, and dislike. Either way, you must have felt it.
Sometimes, hate is directed toward a thing or concept. For example, some things tend to be universally despised by most people. It can range from quite unserious things like life stories before recipes in blogs to serious ones like corrupt politicians.
Yet, sometimes, people simply hate other people. We can all agree that we aren’t the most friendly species to ever live. In fact, we probably are one of the most aggressive ones. Just take a look at our history, and you won’t need any other proof.

Sharon Stone and William Baldwin have been beefing for a while now, with each of them making serious allegations against each other.
Dwayne has said that it came down to them having different approaches to how they do the job.
Channing Tatum thought casting Alex was a big risk and on set Alex could feel the dislike.
William Shatner has a decades-long feud with George Takei, who revealed that William didn't get along with anyone on the Star Trek set.
We tend to hate each other so often that hatred can be split into different types:
- Microaggressions – subtle, often accidental actions or comments that demean individuals;
- Hate speech – more intentional actions or comments of hate;
- Hate crimes – criminal actions committed as acts of hate;
- Cyberbullying – spreading hate online.
Anyone can become someone’s target due to proper and improper grounds. For example, sometimes, a person can annoy a person, intentionally or not, and with time, that annoyance can turn into hatred. That’s just how our brains are wired. In 2022, it was reported that 90% of Americans say they have a co-worker that annoys them. So, it’s no surprise that we see so many people complaining (or joking) online about hating their coworkers.

A feud started with Vivian being unhappy with the age difference between them, which turned into mutual dislike.
Well, as we said previously, actors are humans, too. Sometimes, they can simply be annoyed by or hate their coworkers. The only thing that’s different for them in their job is that they might have to act like they’re best friends or even in love with that co-worker. To talk a little bit more about that, Bored Panda reached out to film critic and host of the Girls On Film podcast, Anna Smith.
She said that the actors’ dislike for each other shouldn’t technically be an issue as long as they can do their job of acting.
Looking at this list, we can clearly see that, quite a lot of times, actors can pull it off, and sometimes, they do it so well that it might be hard to see how these people can’t stand each other.

Claire Danes thought of Leo as a little immature, while he thought she was uptight.

Yet, sadly, gossip media sniff out some “juicy” stories about actors not getting along and make it a way bigger deal than it actually is, which Anna called lazy and harmful. She also gave an example: “Women are so often pitted against each other as well. When in truth, most women in the industry really support one another, as I've found by interviewing them for Girls On Film.”
And if there is some mild bad blood between any women or actors of any other gender, the gossip media might complicate the dynamics even more by making it public and not giving the people privacy to solve things on their own terms, making their job harder than it should be.
