LEGO is releasing a set dedicated to The Beatles! It's called the Yellow Submarine and will be available in stores from the 1st of November for $59.99. The set consists of over 550 bricks and includes 4 figures representing all members of the band - John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.
The design idea came to an amateur musician Kevin Szeto. "The creation of the Yellow Submarine model was really my way of showing my affection for The Beatles," he said. "The Yellow Submarine is bright, fun, and colourful, which also made it a good subject to translate into LEGO form."
Kevin suggested it using a platform called LEGO Ideas. Anyone can use it to propose their own concepts and if the submission gets 10,000 likes from other people, LEGO designers will have to consider developing it. Doctor Who, Ghostbusters, and other sets were created using this method in the past.
