Beadweaving becomes an art when it comes to Guzel Bakeeva’s works. All her elegant jewelries are handmade and unique. The craftswoman says, ‘I like creating absolutely fantastic shapes and patterns and it doesn’t matter how much time the process takes. The result is the only thing that matters to me.’
Guzel is a designer as she graduated from the British Higher School of Art and Design in 2011. One of her handmade bag, IRIS MIST, was represented in the Top-90 beaded works at international beadweaving exhibition Bead&Button Show (USA) and the other one, PREDATOR, became a winner of the greatest contest in the field — Bead Dreams. Unfortunately, the most complex and award-winning works are not for sale — the artist keeps them as her legacy for future family generations.
‘I prefer working with Japanese beads as they are a treasure themselves. So the material obliges me to create the most exquisite accessories,’ Guzel explains. She also uses cabochons, which are rear and beautiful stones she finds at different exhibitions. Also there are beads covered with gold, fresh-water pearls, crystals, gems, bohemian glass and lampwork… But it’s enough of theory, let’s look at all these treasures and enjoy their beauty.
