This is an Open Call to visual artists by Be My Medici, an online patronage platform we are launching later this year. With Be My Medici we aspire to reintroduce visual arts patronage by bridging the gap between the physical and the digital and reviving the magic of correspondence. Having an exclusive focus on the visual arts, this will be a curated platform ensuring coherence of vision and discoverability for the participating artists. Selected artists will be able to create an artist profile on the platform and have the chance to acquire a number of monthly subscribers to support their practice. In exchange for their patronage, these patrons will receive a monthly letter or postcard-sized original by the artist in the mail. At no point will we charge artists any kind of fees.
