Why Do We Enjoy “Bad Art” So Much?
Yes, the very act of placing art on “good” and “bad” shelves is highly subjective, and so is enjoying either one or both of those categories. However, it is an undeniable fact that we all enjoy these bad celebrity drawings, and if you’re wondering why that might be, here are a couple of thoughts on why we like this “bad art” so much:
It’s unexpected. Before you opened this article, we bet you didn’t expect these bad drawings of celebrities to be as hilarious as they are. As much as this surprise element caught you off guard here, the same thing happens with other shoddy artworks, too.
It’s hilarious. Often, an example of bad art is a clear embodiment of absurdity, and who doesn’t love a nice absurdity-induced laugh here and there?
It’s skillful. Of course, each bad drawing of a celebrity on this list is drawn in an amateurish way, but they definitely require skill and thoughtfulness, no matter how ugly.
