Independent & award winning graphic designer Jonė Aleksiūnaitė from Lithuania has decided to make quite interesting “Creative Christmas Greeting” - another spontaneous and crazy project for celebrating the special time of the year.
The goal was to connect creative talents around the world and have a “all-included” moving-graphic greeting to share as a “Online Christmas Poster”. The project was ensured with having a fun process of creation: each person was given 5-15min to add his/her visual piece of art into the given “basic-work-of-art” that later on would travel into the editing field of another creative.
With the spontaneous workflow, no strick shedule and people gifting their free minutes in the super busy time before Christmas, four moving postcards were made in approximately less than 10 days.
Great thing, that each poster has an individual narrative which comes from creative's perspective and understanding of what is happening in the artwork:
“01 Poster” is all about catching the chicken, drawn by illustrator Julliette Kazarian, that got hidden in the file, but still seen in the thumbnail of the file... :) - Chickens got included again and the one we were looking for came back into the artwork at the end of the process...
“02 Poster” - awesome for creative couples who were included in the process (graphic designers Gaižauskai and product designers Orlenok), for the christmas tree which is a temple from Bali (...true travel experiences of graphic designer Anna Sigua...) and christmas decoration which turned into strawberry at the very start of creation, thanks to copywriter Zigmantas Devižis! :)
“03 Poster” has a special “blue fish” that was added by Asta Balčiūnaitė Gordevičienė – graphic designer, who caught it herself in the real life! What a strong woman! :) ...also the “little thing” which was added by lithuanian band “Baltasis Kiras” leader Tautvydas (...audience was quite good at searching for it on the short project presentation during his own concert at “Liverpool Bar”, Vilnius, Lithuania) and “out-of-concept-northen-lights-and-horns” piece of art, created by architect Aistė Dzikaraitė, who was so in a rush that in the middle of the night, rules were forgotten and wish for participation overwhelmed everything and it was decided to still count it as a piece of the process... :)
“04 Poster” is amazing for consistent approach of each artist keeping the visual solutions on the same look. Great Santa drawn by designer Yilmaz Sen, getting hypnotized for facebook by graphic designer Kamile Lisauskaitė, finishing the vibes with christmas song text added by “Moira Visuals” graphic design studio owner Marius Bartkus and another “out-of-concept-solution” by german designer Agnes Vaurien.
Great thing about “Creative Christmas Greeting” project is spontaneous attitude, integration of own thinking into bigger picture, quite a freedom of creativity – it is a work space where unexpected things happen and all is counted as appropriate and welcome.
Creatives have to free-out from requirements and boundaries at least once in a year, right? :)
