Hi! I'm Colm Fitzpatrick and I'm an award winning Irish songwriter living in the south of Spain. I love music and writing songs.
People often ask about my process and one day, when a rush of inspiration came to me, I challenged myself to try something new... Record myself while writing the song from start to finish. All I had was the melody from the start of the chorus and the lyrics 'Oh no you didn't, you didn't but you did'.
From there I had to figure out what the song was about, the chords and progressions to suit and how to build a story from start to finish. It's about a guy who meets a girl, has a one night stand, falls in love and never sees her again.
The recording was done on the same day and while it's a little rough and ready I'm happy with how it turned out, even if I've changed a few things since!
