Autism Evaluation Day For My Son

A little over three months ago, my wife and I had our son tested for autism.
I had been suspecting the possibility that he might have autism when he was as young as 12-months-old. He had no problem making eye contact and enjoyed playing with adults.
However, he typically ignored other kids his age, and there were a few times where he would learn something new and seem to forget it later. This includes sign language for more, ABC's, & counting.
It was also very common for him to want the same book read every night. He often would get upset if we tried singing him a new song. We thought it was our voices; now we know it is because he will get upset when people don't sing the song he wants (although I am a terrible singer).
The process of getting help was more annoying than expected. We started searching for help through the local school district for his delayed speech over a year ago. That entire process from filling out the forms took several months. We were able to get two special education workers to come to our house for half a semester.
