Even though lockdown is remembered as a sad, depressing, and overall bad period in our lives, a lot of great things were born due to our boredom and loneliness. One of those things is Amee’s new comic series: Anxious Animals.
Amee is a well-known artist in our Bored Panda community through her other comic Queer Chameleon, and we are happy to see her other passion projects come to life.
When talking about the birth of this comic series, Amee shared: “I was stuck in lockdown in Australia and feeling pretty anxious (like the rest of the country). And so I started drawing how I was feeling but spoken by animals. It kinda made the feelings feel a bit less dark! And people just started responding really positively so I just kept making them. I think everyone is just feeling all the same things, but they're hard to talk about!"
These comics are comparatively a young project, but it has already received positive feedback and gained a solid following on Instagram. In the future, Amee hopes that these comics could turn “into a small book or little postcards so people could share them.” That doesn’t seem far-fetched as she has already published a book with her Queer Chameleon comics.
Amee is absolutely creative and insightful, with a unique perspective that makes her work so magnetic and instantly likable. If you feel the same way, don’t forget to support her by following her work on social media. And if you haven’t seen comics with Queer Chameleon yet, see her posts on Bored Panda here: part 1 and part 2.
