When it comes to major influences in my life that helped me with my art style… Well, it’s a lot. You can say my environment, including all the people, my love for graphic design, and all other little details were and are shaping my art style constantly. But what truly gave me direction was when I saw Tailjar's (@tailjar) Instagram account, where some beautifully bizarre creatures were drawn on real photos. That’s when I thought, hey, I can use that with my own style!
As for my work, it usually takes 3-5 hours to create one finished image, unless I have other things to do, or when laziness strikes, it can take one full day to finish it.
Most of the time, I just see some photos, and the idea comes to my mind. I see the photo, and I suddenly imagine some character interacting with the photo, and I just draw it down and blend it as naturally as it can look to the original photo.
Usually, people just love how I’m working on their photos. But sometimes, some people do have some objections to the artwork, usually involving some privacy, business brand image, or other issues. And for that, I respect them by deleting/not posting the artwork and just taking it down to my own personal work collection.
I love seeing the final result of the project I’m working on, and getting feedback from other people, who are either enjoying the result or giving suggestions/critiques. It gives me a new perspective that I usually didn’t see before. My main motivation is the joy of creating something new and giving a new meaning to the existing work!
