My boyfriend and I have been dating for around 2 1/2 years now. He has a niece (3) and nephew (1) which are also both his godchildren. Now, don't get me wrong, I really love those kiddies, but I personally don't feel comfortable paying the same amount of money for their gifts. I'm still a trainee at work, so I really don't have tons of money and a lot of my energy already goes towards our shared household. Now, his family doesn't only give gifts for Christmas and Birthdays, but also for easter, which is just not a thing in my family. I also only have one nephew, for which I don't expect my boyfriend to contribute financially for his gifts, as he rarely sees him. Now I am wondering, AITA for not wanting to split the cost of the gifts equally? I don't mind paying a little part of it, but honestly, his brother and sister in law don't get me any birthday or Christmas gifts either (which is totally fine for me), so I don't really see myself in the position to buy gifts for their kids.

Both nta and yes. At the first part, MAKES SINCE! I’m still a kid (kinda) and me and my brother share gifts. Problem is the fact youre not even gonna buy one for them just because someone else didnt buy you some is unfair. You’re basically making the kids think its their fault you dont get a gift.
