It is a deeply satisfying feeling when you see two things perfectly fit together. It scratches that weird itch many of us have for order, symmetry, and neatness. We’re not the only ones who think so!
The ‘Perfect Fit’ subreddit is home to countless photos of things that (yup, you guessed it!) fit into each other in a very visually appealing and aesthetic way. It is a massive online group, housing nearly 1.2 million members (or ‘licensed Fitologists’ as they prefer to be called).
Originally inspired by the ‘Things Fitting Perfectly Into Things’ Tumblr blog back in 2013, r/Perfectfit has since then carved out its own unique niche on the internet. Enjoy some of their best featured photos and, as you continue scrolling, don’t forget to upvote your fave pics. Got that unquenchable need for some more perfect fits? We’ve got the remedy right here: check out our previous list about r/Perfectfit right over here.
Scroll down for Bored Panda's interview with u/immski, the subreddit's founder and one of its moderators.

Bored Panda reached out to the r/Perfectfit's moderator team and founder u/immski was kind enough to answer a few of our questions. They said that they believe the reason why the sub's content resonates with so many people is simple. "It’s what I saw in it: extraordinary order in seemingly random and unrelated objects. It’s fun to see a similar relationship between objects that have no reason to fit together except for chance," they said.

According to u/immski, the subreddit has grown, changed, and expanded quite a lot over the years. "The subreddit has grown from something that was a selfish desire (to see more of that type of content) to much more. Now, over a million people have subscribed and more each day."

The founder of r/Perfectfit told Bored Panda that moderating the community itself isn't too difficult. That's because they've got a great team helping them out. "I have some really amazing mods that do a lot of great work. Additionally, my philosophy is that of Reddit originally to allow the users to decide the wheat from the chaff."

The redditor added that they believe a growth-centered mindset is best in life, where we do our best to control what we can and have Lady Luck smile on us from time to time. "A mindset where you attempt to maintain positive control of your circumstances and outcome, yet occasionally favored by chance or providence would be pretty favorable," they mused.

A lot of these photos are the product of very unlikely coincidences. As luck would have it, I recently had a chat about (un)certainty, (un)predictability, and, well, luck with environmental psychologist and well-being consultant Lee Chambers. He explained to Bored Panda earlier via email that uncertainty is an inescapable part of life and we must learn to embrace this fact.

"When we are looking to become more tolerant of uncertainty in life, the first step we need to take is to accept that uncertainty is part of human life. As a species, we love control and predictable patterns, and have a strong response to uncertainty as a potential threat, as this is what has kept us alive as we've evolved," Lee told Bored Panda.

"When it comes to becoming more cultured in dealing with uncertainty, there are a number of things we can practice. The first one is to become compassionate with yourself and express your emotions healthily. Whether we write them down, speak about them or soothe ourselves, expressing our feelings and being kind to ourselves helps to dampen the impact of uncertainty, while suppressing our emotions and feelings, or fighting against them, can make uncertainty feel more intense," the psychologist went into detail about how we should accept and express our feelings instead of repressing them.

Practicing acceptance and mindfulness are two other strategies that can help cope with uncertainty in life. "We can practice acceptance that there are things we can't control while looking to take ownership of the things we can. This makes us feel more empowered, and not waste energy trying to control things that are outside of our ability to do so, and also helps us to stop ruminating on past challenges and future worries. We can also practice being mindful in the moment, as we can always control more variables right now."

What’s more, Lee noted that we’re often tougher than we think we are. And by reflecting on our past experiences, we can understand which of our personal strengths help us weather periods of uncertainty. "We are often more resilient than we think we are, and we can learn a lot from how we navigated difficult times and situations when we look back with a desire to learn and grow," he said.

Good, healthy habits also empower us when it comes to navigating uncertainty in life. When we’re fit, full, and well-rested, otherwise insurmountable-seeming challenges can suddenly appear very much like they can be overcome.

"We should also look to our routines, things that relax us and things we enjoy. We should make an effort to eat well, sleep optimally, and move our bodies, as they all help us with our emotional balance, optimism, and cognitive ability to navigate uncertainty, giving us the clarity, elevated mood, and energy to get through and be less affected," psychologist Lee told Bored Panda that focusing on the things that we can control can help us deal with the parts of life that we can’t influence (other than with how we react to them).

"One other thing to consider is planning for a dynamic world that is ever-changing. You can create your own method for handling uncertain situations by using many of the skills above, understanding the habits and routines that keep you grounded, and knowing who can support you if you are struggling. By finding strategies that work for you and practicing acceptance and mindfulness, we can start building our toolkit for when the going gets tough and you are unsure what's coming next."
