If you are sick of lockdown in your house and being forcefully turned into a couch potato, this British pilot, currently based in Hong Kong, will take you on a trip around the world. And although following his father's footsteps, Lee Mumford indeed knows how to fly a plane and he also can show you the jewels of the planet in an easier, corona-free, and much cheaper way. While working as an airline pilot, he has visited over 40 countries and has seen some of the most magical and picturesque places on Earth. It would be a shame not to share them with others, so he combined his love of flying and photography to provide us with breathtaking photos that range from beautiful landscapes to vivid cityscapes.
He uses ground-level photography, aerial shots with a drone, and infrared photography—whatever does that place justice and brings us as close to its beauty as possible. His talent for capturing postcard-like photos didn't go unnoticed: he has 13.9k fans on Instagram and has won numerous awards in photography competitions. Lee Mumford told Bored Panda about how he started combining his work and a hobby:
"My love for photography came about when I started to travel. I wanted to showcase the beauty of this planet to a wider audience. As I struggled with 'photos don't do it justice,' I started to look at ways of capturing all the details into one shot. This included composition, understanding lighting, exposure, and how to edit your images. As my photos started to gain traction online, it motivated me to get out and shoot more. Life has so many distractions and photography for me is a way of leaving everything else behind and being one with nature."
