A Walk Through An Indie Dev's Struggles: Portraying Mental Health And Horror

So, I started producing a game back in, let's say, late 2016 - a year or so after Degica released RPG Maker MV, deciding on MV as a platform because learning coding always seemed an impossible task.
I always wanted to make a visual novel since the idea came about when I realizedd that I prefer expressing myself through visualitten mediums, rather than something like complex RPG games you'd typically see produced with MV.
Of course, with every project like this comes an engine. Fun fact, I own about three - two paid, one free: Visual Novel Maker, MV, and Novelty, which is a free visual novel maker whose creator for unknown reasons has no longer supported it, so there isn't much documentation on how to use the damn thing. Engine down? Check. What's next? Oh god, a title.
Now, readers, I can't tell you how many titles I've been through, but I can thankfully give a title now, at least. Departure Part Zero: Return is coming... soon.
Yes, that's right. Soon, and I can't tell you exactly when, where, or how you'll be able to access Departure's demo because, well, everything else has gotten in the way. When I mean "everything else", though, I mean me. Depression, anxiety, that crippling fear nobody will like my passion project I've poured so many hours into.
Do I want horror? Do I want to depict the inner struggles of my characters? One is into hard drugs, another lost his parents and can set things on fire if not careful enough, while a third forgets to take his anxiety medication and has no idea who his father is.
Sure I want both, but in the end, it is what it is. Everyone struggles in some way. For me, that way is trying to be proud of something I've made.

Save Screen? Title Screen? Both?

Initial Villian, then Not. I like the outfit, though.

Do I want something like this? Or another style? No idea.

Mockup V.1 of "him", I like this one. It'll probably be used, maybe not.
