A Pet Photographer At The Beck And Call Of Her Kitty Clients.

Most people have seen the work of studio pet photographers, or even outdoor pet photographers, though few photographers will also venture into someone’s home; the space where the pet is most comfortable.
I’m a photographer who specializes in providing professional photography for people’s pets in their own home. I photograph all sorts of pets… even farm animals, though cats are the most popular. Considering how cats can often be very uncomfortable in an unfamiliar environment, being able to go to them has become invaluable to my pet owners.
For pet owners, most of their home photos are from their own phone and usually turn out too dark or too blurry. As someone who is owned by a couple of cats herself, I know it is at home that our much-loved furry family member is at their cutest!
I started offering this service after years of taking photos of rescue animals in foster homes. The challenges inherent in dealing with possibly very nervous rescue cats in all different homes and different lighting conditions (often in a very short amount of time) provided great training to be able to make magic in nearly any situation.
One kitty client's parents desperately wanted photos of their beloved cat but said she was much too shy to ever allow a stranger to photographer her. Yes, she hid under the bed for over an hour but with patience and a few special techniques, we captured images of Luna and her brother Kito that the owners absolutely loved.
Some rare breed cats are strictly inside cats and the owners prefer to keep their precious jewels in that safe space. Like the bold and beautiful Bazooka the Bengal or the small but sassy Devon Rex Charlotte
Or perhaps the owner lives in a rural area so it’s purely a matter of a convenience that I can come to them. Traveling all the way from the UK Charlie now enjoys sunny days on a farm in Australia.
I have even photographed an Abyssinian boy called Toshka who suffers from a rare disease diagnosed as Feline Skin Fragility Syndrome; which basically causes the skin to become thin and weak. Therefore, the cat is prone to cuts and splits in his skin which can quickly lead to infection as his ability to heal is also diminished. Staying in a safe environment for Toshka is paramount. Of course, I had to photograph all his gorgeous Abyssinian fur brothers Kiki and Casper while I was there.
