Today, almost one in four Canadians has a tattoo it goes up to one in three in the U.S.
And while tattoos are now socially acceptable, they’ve had a hard time penetrating the higher echelons of the art world. And since we didn’t want to wait for that to happen, we took action, putting tattoo art right next to the great masterpieces of the world.
The Permanent Collection was launched with a stunt video where individuals with tattoos walked into the greatest art galleries in Montreal to exhibit their tattoos to unsuspecting art lovers.
To push the initiative even further, we ask you to take a picture of your tattoo, post it, and geotag it to your local art gallery using #ThePermanentCollection.
With this initiative, we hope that tattoos and tattoo artists will finally get the recognition they deserve.
