For those of you who don’t already know what 3D modeling is all about, let me enlighten you. 3D modeling is the process of creating a digital representation of a three-dimensional object or scene. It is used in various industries, such as animation, gaming, product design, architecture, and engineering. The process typically involves using specialized software to create a virtual model using polygonal shapes, curves, or a combination of both. Once the model is created, it can be rendered with various textures and lighting to give it a realistic look. The final output can be used for animation, visualization, and simulation purposes.
Due to the 3D models that Gabriel creates, his cartoonish caricatures can come to life with the help of a 3D printer. However, the artist mentioned in his Instagram caption once that he runs into difficulties when printing. “It is important to say that it was very difficult to paint this piece, not because of the complexity, but because my house is full of cat hair,” wrote Gabriel.
Gabriel’s talents have been noticed by big names such as Netflix and Ubisoft, where he did 3D modeling jobs. He also had experience in making collectibles for The Witcher, Stranger Things, and Stan Lee, and one collectible we found online available for purchase is Fluffy from The Fat and the Furious.
The softwares that Gabriel uses for his creations are ZBrush, Photoshop, Maya, and V-Ray. By developing skills in concept art, digital painting, 3D modeling, 3D printing, digital sculpting, painting, character design, traditional art, and stylization, who knows, maybe you would be able to land some gigs with Netflix too.
