24-year-old Mel Hipona has never stepped out of the country but has been to different parts of Asia and many parts of the Philippines with the help of her friends.
It all started on February 2013, when she and her friends planned a trip to Baguio, the summer capital of the Philippines, but had to cancel due to an emergency. Her friends brought a photo of her and included her in their travel photos so Mel won't feel so bad about not going.
Mel often misses out on hikes, camping and other strenuous activities people her age usually enjoy due to her health condition, but that didn't stop her from crossing borders and reaching great heights. She has had a fair share of travels herself where she keeps a cheerful disposition, always.
Mel currently resides in Manila, Philippines. She turns 25 tomorrow.
