I work for an Art Studio that is bringing hundreds of children together amidst this pandemic..... we all thought we may loose our jobs when the studios closed down... as many currently are. However we are finding a way to bring hundreds of children together amidst this global crisis!
The commonality is that we are all in this together. We have had to improvise and re-work what we once thought was our reality, we must adapt. Children often seem as if they can brush it off easily, some are even glad to have an "early" summer. However all these sudden changes can really impact the human psyche, especially when these are little humans still trying to figure out what the world is around them..... even as an adult, this is a lot to process.
I am one of the many people whose workplace has shut down due to the pandemic. I work at a Children's Art Studio that is both educational and extracurricular, it is a release for the mind and soul. Sometimes we get students who just want a safe place to be themselves and not be judged. We try to provide a positive environment away from anything that may be going on in their household..... conversing with kids even helps me escape my overactive adult brain.
If you have children who want to be a part of our Fibo Village, you can like our page and then from there request to join our private facebook group, where all this is happening! A couple days ago our online zoom session maxed out because we had 500 participants trying to join!
This March all our classes are free, we do not know what the future holds but we are trying to normalize this transition as best we can for all students, children, parents, families & US. You might say it is just Art but for us it is a Community so we can keep doing what we love and keep all of our amazing Art Teachers working and our community thriving !
