2010-2020: I Took A Selfie Every Day For 10 Years (Age 14-24)

Like many 14 year old girls I was insecure about my appearance, I had seen some time lapse videos online and thought that if I documented my own ageing I would gain confidence by seeing my appearance change.
As the years passed I became much less concerned about my appearance and more focused on preserving how I'd changed as a person, leaving Easter eggs in the video and keeping in pictures of days where I was upset about something, as a reminder of all that eventually passes.
I shared an 8 year edition of the time lapse a couple years ago that got some attention online, it was interesting to see what different people took away from the project. Perhaps I hadn't changed enough for some, or that there is some grandiosity in photographing yourself every day. For me though the video has become a motivator to continue pushing myself to learn and grow in ways that can't be picked up through a lens.
I take the photos on a digital camera (phone 'selfies' were still just coming into fashion 10 years ago), then manually align the faces in photoshop before creating a time lapse video. In the early pictures I tried to have a plain background and keep the same expression for the sake of consistency, but as things evolved I've became more interested in capturing where and who I am each day.
