My husband and I just got back from traveling around South America for 6 months. We found there were a few things that we are so glad we brought, and I figured I'd share those things with you guys in hopes it helps your next travel adventure go a little more smoothly!

25 Things You Should Bring to South America

1. Cell Phone: messaging, games, internet...a necessity

2. Tablet: More messaging, games, and Netflix!

3. Headphones: Netflix in dorms, face-time in airports...must have

4 + 5. Eye-mask and Ear Plugs: Bring on the sleep!

6. Sunglasses: It's gonna be sunny, be prepared.

7. Hand Sanitizer: No soap? No problem!

8. Sunscreen: To burn or not to burn? That is the question.

9. Lip Balm: with sunscreen, no more burns or dry lips!

10. Bug Spray! I had 3 bottles of bug spray...and still ran out

11. After Bite: You know it's gonna happen...

12. Meds: Advil, Pepto Bismol, Benadryl, Tylenol, Halls, bring it all!

13. Sewing Kit: So glad I brought this! I used it at least 6 times!

14. Mini Scissors/Swiss Army Knife: To go with the sewing kit..etc

15. Waterproof bags: So useful! Phones, camera, spare clothes..etc

15. Binoculars: For the bird-nerd in all of us!

16. Headlamp: Night tours and jungle adventuring must-have

17. Quick Dry Travel Towel: Compact + fast drying!

18. Hiking Boots: Going into the jungle? Bring boots.

19. Rain boots: Going deep into the rain forest? Bring rubber boots.

20. Long Sleeve Shirt: Protection from biting insects + sun

21. Long Baggy Pants: Protection from bugs, plants, and sun.

22. Long socks: insects....you need all the protection you can get

23. Running shoes: Walking around town, spare shoes

24. Sandals: beach, showers, casual walking in cities

25. Camera: for capturing memories! Or use your phone
