"I came up with the idea since my brother and I needed something to do during quarantine," Macaire told Bored Panda. "After I did one chalk drawing of balloons, I asked him to be in the picture and he had fun, so I did it again. After chalking for about 15 days in a row, I decided to set a goal of chalking 100 days in a row."
But even now, as Macaire and Camden have surpassed their milestone, their project hasn't become a task to them. They still continue to do it. "It was fun to pretend that he could travel and go on fun adventures," Macaire explained. "I met the goal of chalking 100 days in a row on July 4, and I keep chalking (about every other day) to help spread joy to others since people tell me this makes them happy."
You could say the whole series is a perfect representation of the bond these two share. "We have always been close and this has brought us even closer since we come up with ideas together and talk like he's really going on all these adventures."
The 14-year-old has to go back to school in the middle of August so for now, she's planning to continue the series at least until then. "We are having fun doing this and are so happy other people enjoy it," she added.
