Spoof is one of us, a boy with a life as complex and vivid as ours who wonders about the purpose, the meaning and how it will all end just as much as we do. He’s special in that different way that we all are, that way that makes others curious about where we come from and how we arrived here to this place where all of us meet and stop being others.

The Ghost of Monday Morning

Spoof knew her well. They didn’t have much in common, but he understood her like nobody else.
Every Sunday she would try and help the unhappy. She would sneak into their rooms to remind them of perdition and change. Her eyes had the power to make them see what she saw. But truth scared the hell out of everyone since ages, so thousands of people would spend the night pretending she wasn’t there. The few ones who reckoned her however ended up forgetting she ever existed, but she never complained. She is the ghost of Monday morning and she’s been there with you every Sunday, ever since you started hating Mondays.

The Room

The light comes from outside, from the bulb, from within.
“Wrong address”, he reads and thinks of home
Whenever he checked in at a hotel he thought of the last person who was there before him. Especially what books he or she liked. Only then he would turn on the light.

Light light.

The long flight

People from Chiloe believe that traveling by plane is not indicated because the soul is way slower than the body. It takes time to travel on his own, and wonders for days before arriving back to its case. Showing it the beauty of each and every cloud is the best way to make it want to break free.
He read it in a book once and knew it to be true, just like he knew he was never going to be a pilot

Chai late

He gave up his every morning Chai Latte to catch that train. He wasn’t sad, just wondering whether his precious ritual was worth being on time or not.
No pressure

He liked counting things. Anything, actually. And now he wanted to count the sparkles of light from the water. He found that quite hard to do, considering their uninterrupted contemporary routine and remembered the pressure that dragged him here. He woke up in the morning and didn't have a clue of where he was standing, or what he was supposed to do for that matter. He knew it won’t take long to figure it all out. The self often likes to trick him into giving it more attention. But this time he was going to teach it a lesson.
Pressure? I’ll give you pressure.

Kite Runner

He didn’t feel disgusted by its old hairs or by its rusty edges. He found those innocent and somehow vivid. It was the spark in its eye that scared him the most. Every time he saw it, Spoof had to face the truth inside the land of his imagination. But at that point it was too late to imagine anything else because everything had already become real. It was the first time in his life when he was wearing shorts and looked like a normal kid taking his pet for a walk.
Fishing for thoughts is not about catching the pray, but rather about praying to the catch
61 Nighty Nights

He always left the lights on. Not because he was afraid of the dark, but because no matter how late in the night he went to sleep, he felt responsible of checking on the other sleepless appartments. He always counted them. Twice. Some times more, just to be sure. He always knew that the people inside those other appartments didn’t just think „i’ll keep him company” and went to sleep. But he did it anyway.

Hocus Pocus

There was something magical about that pink, vivid square. It felt like a wizard had painted an unfinished reality. The cold outside wasn't so much bothering people, but rather letting them know not everything was about them. The Chocolaterie that reined in the center kept on inviting him in, but Spoof used to feel the taste of the chocolates just by thinking about them. That night he discovered strange new flavors so he knew that the wizard was close. But which one was He?
Outdoor

He knew exactly what he was looking for, although he didn’t know exactly how it looked. He was certain it had to bring summer with and make you feel all the other things around just as powerful as you did when you encountered them first. He knew the colors were right and that the air there had the power to make the time stop. There was a price to pay, but he was sure about it. A heartbeat needed to be skipped and Spoof knew she will recover. The most beautiful flower in the world was somewhere there waiting.
But walking on smog was definitely way harder than walking on water.
Grow Up

The first serious scratch happened when he was ten. He fell from his favorite tree. Spoof used to climb it and share his secrets, his dreams, his childish sorrows. He wasn’t crying because of the pain in his knee, but because he felt betrayed. He used to feel safe in the forest and his best friend has stolen the worm fuzzy feeling of protection from him. “It’s time to grow up”, his mother said. He didn’t understand then that growing up didn’t mean stop climbing trees. When he came back home to visit he didn’t find his old friend tall and beautiful. Only his precious rings were left of him, reminding them both how old they were. Spoof knew that it was time for change, again.
